cooling .....

Howdy All;

Asked the following in the 'Fulltimer/Snowbird'
section. Maybe it will collect more responses here.

Howdy All;

Just courious as to how the folks in the Southwest
(HOT & dry), do their cooling.
I've been checking into a Swamp Cooler. Any suggestions?

Been checking out a few .... any input will be welcome.

Thanks,

You asking about a swamp cooler on the stick house or on a trailer?

Swamp works wells in dry climates (under 100 degrees).

Evaporative cooling

In NM we call them swamp coolers. They do work well down here, except when it is humid outside. Obviously they bring in a lot of moisture into the house - which would be very problematic in a travel trailer. Accumulation of moisture is one of the main reasons our Keystone Cougar is not warranted for full time living.

We love the refrigerated air in our 5er...

Howdy All;

Have been doing some sniffing around and posted this in the 'Fulltimers.Snowbirds' forum;

"Thanks for the replies.
As I'd mentioned I've been doin' some checkin' around.....
found this looks to be the most feasiable;

http://www.turbokool.com/

Thinking I'd put it in the vent in the bedroom."

I intend to keep the regular AC unit for those days when humidity crawls up over 40 or 50%.

The day before I left Southern N.M. (4/28/2012) the humidity listed as 3%.....
temp. was upper 80's, not a bad day as days go.
