Installing a Washer/Dryer in the Alpine

We've been planning on installing a Washer/Dryer combo in our 2011 Alpine since we got it. We've got the money and, fortunately, a question came to mind about the installation.

I checked the dimensions listed on several websites and the unit has a 23 -1/2" by 23-3/8" footprint.

The bedroom door is 23" wide! It looks like I have to pull the wood molding off the inside of the door frame, remove the door, hinges and latch and then remove the plastic door frame to get about a inch more of clearance.

Anyone done this?

Thanks,

Ok, no one seems to have any idea. I will proceed by removing the molding and then the plastic door frame.

Here's another question... I will have to cut a 4" hole though the side wall for the vent. To anyone with a water/dryer vented combo.... where does your vent penetrate the wall? Down by the floor? Up about the washer?

Thanks,

Here is a picture of one I found online. It looks to be just above the door in the picture. I hope this helps you out not even sure if that is the vent or not but it sure looks like it. Nice fiver wow.

My previous RV had the vent coming out high, maybe a foot below the roof line.

The dryer vent would be a lot farther to the front than that
