Very nice! Did you have to remove anything for the modification?

The tiles are real stone. (Weathered Quartz) thin and light with adhesive on the back. Available at Menards. The tiles are 4x24 and you cut them with tin shears. Easy install and around $100 total. We did not have to prepare the walls, being new without any cooking residue on wall.

Real nice. Looks like you trimmed out the install on the right side with some edging?

yes, it is the plastic edging they sell for the fake tin ceiling tiles. The edging goes up the side and across the top to take up any gaps. A little chalk on the back of the edging holds it in place.

Looks very nice. It's a mod that has been on my list for some time now. Just making my way down the list slowly but surely.

I used these stainless sheet peel-and-stick tiles from Home Depot - this installation is 8 sheets, about $85. Can be cut with metal snips, but we have a metal shear. Some custom cuts, as, to no one's surprise, the walls and counter are not quite square.

Looks very neat and clean. Have you used your stove since applying the backsplash? Curious how this peel & stick reacts to heat and steam from cooking. Keep us posted. Thanks

It *shouldn't* (famous last words) be a problem because the large pots & pans, like stock pots, go on the single center front burner and the back burners are for smaller pans. That should leave 3-4" inches between the pan and the stainless steel tiles.
We shall see, though....
