Galley Tank Flush Valve Mod for 336BHS

For all of us with a 2016 336BHS where you have to crawl UNDER the coach at the dump station to empty your galley gray tank...this is the mod for you!

We spent about $75 for this mod but it was well worth it so my husband was not crawling on his hands and knees at a disgusting dump station.

I have also attached a pdf with a parts list that you will need...

This mod was fairly easy and took about 1.5 hours start to finish.

1. Cut the 1-1/2" pipe about half way between where it exits the underbelly and where it tee's into the 3" drain valve. You will need to cut about 1" of pipe out of the way so all the new components will still fit.

2. Glue your coupler to each spigot flange (do this for both flanges). Dry fit these to your newly cut pipe you can get an idea of how they need to line up for your cable kit and valve.

3. Glue a coupler/flange combo to open end of pipe. Do this for both sides.

4. Now, you will need to remove about 5 screws from the underbelly and drill a hole through the bottom of where your current two pull handles are located. Make sure to also go through your metal underbelly.

5. Install the cable and pull valve as directed.

6. Put everything back together!

That's one way to "skin a cat" and prevent having to crawl under the trailer to empty the galley gray tank. It looks like your mod will work great "during the summer", however, if your original galley valve is located the same as mine, it is "inside the heated area" so there is no water exposed in any of the plumbing runs that are "below the coroplast". With your valve located outside the underbelly, water will drain "to the valve" in the exposed plumbing run and during winter use, will be subject to freezing and possible pipe damage. If you left the original valve in place, then you'd be OK in winter by leaving your new valve open and reverting to the factory valve. If you disabled the factory valve, do you have any way of preventing freeze damage in the exposed pipe?

If you don't do any cold weather camping, you've made dumping easier !!!

Thanks for sharing

Would have this valve fit in place of the factory valve?

Also wondering, could you not have just replaced the factory galley valve with the flex cable valve?
