Power Cord Reel

I just installed on these in 3711FL Montana and wish I did it long time ago. I reeled up with outside temp of about 30 degrees and all I had to do move the cord so had straight shot into the real but it reeled up easier than I suspected it would being that cold. Need some practice getting it neatly rolled up but it cold out. I have my wife rap a towel around while I'm reeling to dry and clean the cord. The reel I have is made my Lippert and sold a lot different places including Amazon.

If you want get really fancy you get one the has a motor to reel it in but that was 599 and the difference in cost I can turn the crank.

Where did you mount the reel? (Can't tell from your photo.) If I ever get around to putting another connection on the side of ours (where it belongs!), I'm probably going to add a reel in the basement next to the convenience center.

My new camper has a detachable 50 amp cable, so I need to do something like this as well. Thanks for posting this.

The 3711FL has storage in the rear of the 5er under the rear bedroom.

An old sock works as well as a towel.

Well a reel would be nice, I replaced the inflexible power cord my 5er came with, I replaced it with a 40' 4/6 SO cable that I keep in a 3 gal bucket!.

I like that ~~ 40' in a 5 gallon bucket! All that long heavy cord to connect to the post most often at the rear of the site from the connection at the rear of the 5er. Then to store it in the front pass-thru ~~~ about 15' would work most of the time.

NOT 5 Gallon! 3 Gallon Bucket, not that heavy and very easy to handle, even in freezing weather.

If you were on the east coast I'd place an order with you!

Those reels are nice but even the usual 30-40 foot plus a similar length extension cord plus two, a 25 and a 35 foot. 30 amp cables lie very nicely in the basement of our 5er, taking up less room then the reel and I can move that pile of cords around some to fit other 'stuff'. But, with that said, if we had that rear storage area, a reel would be a good addition since we 'slim down' the stuff on extended trips.
