Freshwater Anti Syphon Valve

Our campground requires that there be an anti-syphon valve on the freshwater connection. I believe in some instances, this valve may be built into the connection/plumbing for some RVs but I'm not sure if that's the case for ours. It is a Keystone Retreat 39FKSS.

That said, the only ones I can find online are plastic ones that don't look that durable. May need to do that in the short term, but wondering what everyone else has done...

siphon, antisiphon, anti syphon

Thanks! For some reason I wasn't getting that one in my search results, but that's exactly what I was looking for. Ordered one and will be here in a day or two...

Does anyone know if our plumbing systems already have a backflow preventer built in? Or is this purely an add on?

I may be wrong but I don't think they are built into an RV. That's why many cg's and parks will have one attached to the faucet. I've never heard of a park where you have to furnish it. That's a new one.

Don't know of any RV's that have them built in.. I buy a 1/2 dozen or so of the brass hose end style that John posted the link to from Tractor Supply or Home Depot every year.... always forgetting them at the campground or lending them to other campers..

I understand why some campgrounds require them... All you got to do is watch one guy hook up his black tank flush to the potable water faucet without one to understand..

Howdy All;

Quite a few water inlets DO have check-valves,
http://www.amazon.com/JR-Products-96.../dp/B0002UHVX2
keeps the onboard pump from pushing water out the inlet.

Some don't, like the ones for the flush system. I keep one of the brass
valves attached to the Y that gives me both fresh water for daily use
and for when I hook the flush hose up to do that weekly chore I need to
do as a full-timer.

Tractor Supply Company has them for a few dollars more but the convenience of not having to wait for shipping might be worth it.

Thanks for all of the info, gang. What's funny is that I've since been to a number of hardware stores and now I can't STOP finding them (the brass one posted above). Picked a few up already and will install as soon as I'm back there.

In the meantime, we found one in the shed when we were setting up and put it on to be 'legal', but it hums loudly every time we run water. Assuming it's just bad, and the valve is fluttering...

Check valve, yes they all do. Anti-siphon, no I haven't seen one yet.
