Broken accordion blind

One of the strings broke on the accordion blind on a living room window. Are these easy to remove or does the entire valance have to come down. I have ordered a new blind from Amazon.

Instead of replacing the blind, it is possible to just replace the strings. Here are a couple of videos that explain how to do this.

We repaired one of our shades using a "Pleated Shade First Aid Kit" from Amazon. We didn't remove the valance because it looked like a major operation to take down and replace, but it might have been easier in the long run. It was a pain to reinstall the blinds with the valance in the way. With a few not for prime time words and a lot of patience we got the job done. Here's a link for the repair kit. https://www.amazon.com/Pleated-Shade...s%2C123&sr=8-4

Thanks for the info everyone. I had already ordered the new shade and honestly it was on $70 cad. Not worth the hastle of trying to repair. My bigger question is how that valance comes down.

If the valance is up against a cabinet it will have screws going up into the cabinet. Also look at the ends on the inside to hold it against the wall.

I tossed my pleated blinds and replaced with venetian blinds. I think I posted a thread on it.
