Modification for Generator- Can I do this???

I just purchased a Champion generator to use for a trip this summer. Instead of carrying it in the truck I would like to make a platform on the rear bumper of the trailer. There is already a spare tire on the bumper and my concern is the total weight that the bumper can support. My trailer the Outback Sydney 32fre fifth wheel. Can this be done or would I have to beef up the bumper to support the additional weight. Any input would be appreciated.
