I live in the high elevation mountains on the Canadian Border in Eastern Washington. So I am already in the boonies in a 24x36 Cabin.
But , Having this new camp trailer is nice to get away and go to other locations for a few days.
Yes , I rather have "over-kill" with all my purchased extra's.
Then to need something , and not have it , and can't get it for 50 miles.

Some day I'll be a master r.v owner , and can look back on myself and think wow , was I ever a doofus. I am trying hard in the mean time.

We were all a doofus at one time or another. None of us were born an RV expert, I’m sure I was the source of entertainment at the campground plenty of times.

Keep the faith and just put one foot in front of the other. You will get there!! In my opinion your well on your way.

Glenda I am a Canadian (79yrs old) and I still use cuss words. We are not supposed to be like that.
On another note we have been to your part of WA. Attended the Omak Stampede on 2 occasions. That "Suicide Race" is something to see. Those boys and horses have lots of guts. nerve or what ever it takes to make that run. Also spent time in Lake Chelan (apple capital of WA) and Winthrop (western town). Now there is an interesting town. Cowboy or what?
Keep asking questions until you understand the answer.
That's how I got smart.

I get so embarrassed to come in here , and try to explain my current predicament taking place , as I am sure my list grows quickly.

Pretty soon you guys will tell me to "Shoooo-Pest".

Most of the time I can't explain what I am trying to say.
I am learning , at a slugs pace.
I need a woman's R.V. book that uses pictures.

Thank you to each and all of you , for being ever so patient with me.
I will master this some day.

Embarrassed to come here? Don't. I belong to many RV, truck, performance forums. This forum, by a long shot, is the most active and helpful forum I belong to. The folks here are so helpful, so quick to try to help; and yes, understanding of problems new folks encounter....because we've been there. You're worries and questions don't/shouldn't worry anyone trying to help...that's what we do....and want to do....fire away!

No one touched on this but, my opinion on a RV with 1 battery is about as good for getting the slide open /closed, a few lights on and water pump, maybe a electric jack up/down once. On the way to plug into shore power at the camp spot.
2 should get you to use the RV as it was equipmented ie, run furnace during night, water pump, lights LEDs, refer and water heater on propane maybe for 2 nights before the batteries need charged. To charge them you need lots of solar amps (much more then just maintaining them) and or a generator.
I do not have or had solar only gennys and run 1 a few hours each morning and each night to top off batteries. I would suggest if dry camping is what you mainly do until you get a genny or a lot more solar you will be running out of electric power.
With a bunch of work you can find what your power consumption is for a 24 hr cycle and then have a system to match the amp use.
I do not do that, I just run a genny to take care of all that. They can run on gas or propane, some are loud some are real quiet. Many are light weight now days.

Honestly, we all need a woman's rv book with pictures. Instead we have something better, this forum! Don't ever be embarrassed to ask questions, even if the wording does not come out like you think they should.

Well , shoot , it's pitch Black in mine , no lights at all.

That's OK , just one more thing to suck the life out of my battery.

But , my good news is , I found out I can claim my new battery , box and cables on my extended warrenty. To run Duels.

Getting them to cough up a refund is going to be another story. Lol.

Battery Dies Constantly

Don’t know them. As a rule warranty will replace a failed component, but won’t “enhance” the repair. By that I mean they would replace a failed fridge or furnace, but not a “wear” item like a battery. IF the battery failed it would be prorated by the battery maker and even then adding an additional battery wouldn’t be part of the “repair”.

I’ll be interested in what they say/do.

Awesome news , running Duel batteries makes all the difference in the world. No power drain at all when it's Off shore power.
Sitting idle she stays fully charged up. Yippee .
Now , the next task , use a few things , no shore power , and see if there's a big power drain. Better not be. So far so good.

Good to do a test in driveway, stay on battery power for 2 or 3 days and run stuff. See what happens. You could get a simple volt display for under 10 bucks and plug into the 12v socket. It might show around 12.6v with topped off batteries and some 12v devices start shutting themselves off at around 11.4v.

Things are actually functioning very well running Duels.
Off shore power 2 days now. Been trying Led lights thru out the camper.
Leave on for about 20 minutes each. So far so good. Although Led's
should be a low draw anyway.
Time will tell.

Glenda Clark, Howdy;

Sorry, late to the dance ... again. Belated Howdy WELCOME to the madness!

From the sounds of your last posting, it would appear that you might have had
a bad connection between your old Battery and the RV. Maybe a short of sorts(?).

Anyway, fingers X'ed .
