Triangle Tires

Like many of us I have a 10,000 GVWR 5er with a D rated tire and want to upgrade to E for the added weight cushion (2540 vs 2830). My question is since most tires come from over seas does it matter what tire to get?
Has anyone had experience with Triangle Tires?
I'm looking at Triangle tire in the E rating and after reading so much about tires it seems to come down to a couple of things, like proper inflation, weight and speed. Currently my 5er has D rated Trailer Kings, but not comfortable with the weight rating. I do monitor them closely.
I've read people question the fact that most people complaining about the "china bombs" are either overloaded or speeding. I guess what i'm getting at is, I feel like any E rated tire will be better for my 5er than the best D rated tire.

At the risk of being repetitive, run, do not walk, away from your TK's and don't look back. Carlisles at Walmart will be your best bet, dollar for dollar.

^^X2. What Jim said. An off brand tire in a higher weight rating is just a bigger bomb pop. Get a quality tire. The Carlisles at Walmart can't be beat for price.

Your D rated tires on a 10k trailer are overloaded.....I don't care what your pin weight is. The way they calculate it it says you aren't but IMO you are.

TKs are an accident waiting to happen. My trailer is a 10k gvw as well and came with TK LRD tires. 2nd trip the right rear blew and caused 7k in damage. And no, my tires weren't overloaded, running at speed or anything else. I'm rather anal about safety issues on my vehicles.

Off brands in anything aren't worth buying IMO. Sort of like going to Dollar General and buying their off brand of Pepto Bismol. Great price, "same ingredients" etc. Hmmm, 1/2 of the primary ingredients you need compared to the name brand. No thanks.

As to your comment, "any E rated tire will be better for my 5vr than the best D rated tire" is wrong. An E rated TK vs a D rated TK might be better. But I would rather have a quality D tire than a cheap, no name E tire any day. Get the E rated Carlisle HDs. You can't beat the price and they are a quality tire. That's what I bought and this is my 3rd round trip to FL from TX on them with 0 issues.

Thanks for the input guys. Danny I have read your tire thread and it was then that I realized I need to get a rating higher and a better quality tire. I may not have enough time to order Carlisle and get them on the trailer.
My job in Los Angeles might start next Monday so that is why I asked about Triangle. There is a shop that has them in stock, Triangle produces tires for large equipment. My options for in stock local install "now" are, Triangle, Vanguard, Towstar, Towmax and Goodyear.
Triangle are basically the same price as Carlisle. If the job doesn't start next week then I have more options and may consider the Maxxis at $850 I have a hard time with the cost knowing in a couple years I will replace them.
The Goodyear is just to new to tell. Yesterday I went around town "feeling" the rubber and I gotta say Maxxis sidewall is pretty hard.

Having had both, Maxxis & Carlisle HD, for the money I would pick Carlisle HD. I would get on WalMart.com and shop the Carlisle HD tire you want. Then call local tire dealers and see if they have it in stock and will price match WalMart. Discount Tire did that for me.

Nobody stocks them here, and wouldn't be able to get them before Sat.

The Triangle brand is the one coming from China to a tire plant in NC.

Go for the Maxxis or Goodyear then I guess.
No Carlisles in Redding California. Hmmm. Business opportunity for somebody.

I went from 14 inch LRC tires rated at 1760 lbs to 15 inch LRE tires (and wheels) rated at 2830 lbs. Overkill for sure but the LRDs I originally wanted were in aging inventories at multiple retailers. I couldn't find a set less than 9 months old. LREs were several dollars more but had a much newer DOT "born on" date. Considering ST tire age much quicker than wear, I wanted the freshest.

I did the math when I bought them and gained about 62% in load reserve. Trailer pulls nicely, tires are substantial, and I have at least 3 years of worry free rubber. Adding a TPMS system to the trailer tires helped mitigate my worries even more.

Maxxis tires would be my 1st choice of the ones mentioned. TPMS system would be my next choice, after getting the Maxxis tires.

Well the tire drama is over finally! Been reading for 3 months and learned a lot. 1. Most importantly don't overload or under inflate your tires 2. All tire companies have had their share of bad runs. 3. Apparently not all Chinese are bad depends where there made and who is managing them.

I did find a tire shop that had Carisles in stock but would match Wally.
All that to say I ended up with the Goodyear Endurance a really solid feeling tire and they smell great, so time will tell. I fell more confident than having the TK's. I did get the eez tire monitor a few months back and it works well. Now to reprogram that.

Just one more thing I only had 200 miles that I put on however the 5er was transported via pick up truck from Indiana so there was 2200 to 2600 miles on them depending on the route they took.

The Goodyear Endurance tires have had a lot of good reports and praise but the jury is still out for longevity rating. Sounds like your good to go, happy camping!
