roof leak

I go on the roof once a year and recaulk, , its a 2011 keystone sprinter 311 bhs, today I went up and both rear corners had cracks in the dicor, about an 8x8 inch square at the passenger rear corner is virtually gone, very spongy. the trailer has no signs of water inside. should I let it ride and reseal well or how would I fix this small area?

I would make sure all the moisture is gone and then reseal and watch.

I inspected my roof and spot sealed it a month ago. Early this week I was looking at my antenna and noticed the Dicor cracking along the edge seal. I was surprised there was such a change in one month.

Check that the screws are tight before recaulking

Had not thought about that. I'll need to pull the decorative plastic/rubber out of the trim to do that. Good idea. Thanks.

roof leak

Dry weather for a day or two. I would caution against eternabond tape. Makes any future repairs major. Feel free to goop on the self leveling Dicor, you can always get it off without damage to the membrane if need be.

Filling the crack should buy you some time. Funny, I use it so much I even know the part number (13-1315) from our supplier.

Had a mobile rv tech come to grease the bearings, change the seals, and adjust the brakes. While he was here, I asked him to check my roof. He found cracks in the front edge on both sides that he repaired and suggested I reseal the entire roof. So, I ordered a dozen tubes of tan dicor and will do that as soon as it arrives. Good thing I had the camper covered all winter. FYI, trailer is 3 years old,

I just got 3 tubes yesterday, 40 minute drive to get at 9.95 a tube. I am mostly worried about the soft spot up there, I cant leave it like that, I could push my hand straight thru it if I pushed down a little, guess I am going to have to try and fix it.

Also I ran into a guy I know at Walmart, telling him about my leak, and he said he has 2 leaks in his fifth wheel, he had 3 cans of spray flex seal, from what I read that is a bad idea too.

Since you said it's at the seam, you can remove the screw rail and carefully peel back the membrane. It's not hard just time consuming. Then clean the rails and after repair re install them and re seal.

Started to panic a bit after I ordered the Dicor and THEN read the manual about roof caulking material. It is an Alpha Superflex TPO roof and I should only use an Alpha caulking product. So I contacted the dealer service department and was told that Alpha would like you to buy their product, but Dicor is fine. So I asked what product would the dealership use if I brought my camper in to be re-caulked. He said Dicor. He said it is not necessary to cover all the existing caulk, just where it might be cracking or loose. I hope this stuff has a long shelf life (I will keep it in my basement) since I will have it for a while!

If you have a "beer refrigerator" in the garage, store it in there. If not, then in a cool, dry part of the basement will be OK. Once the tube is open, it will last a few weeks (maybe longer) if you reseal the tube nozzle and keep the DICOR cool.

As a comparison, Ford says to use Motorcraft oil and on my DW's Escape, they recommend BP gasoline. Neither of those is "required" as any brand that meets the specifications will work just as well. It's the same with Alpha and DICOR. They each recommend you use their "licensed product" not because it's the only thing that will work, but rather because they keep making money as long as you use "their stuff".....

water leaking again, with the outside kitchen it gets wet in the rear passenger outside kitchen compartment, It also drips out on the street at that corner on the outside, no cracks or holes in roof or dicor, how could it be getting in there?

I would check the door gasket.
