Front fold-down bumper step?

I have searched every known truck site I can think of and can't seem to find the fold-down step that bolts on in place of the license plate bracket. Has anybody seen them for sale anywhere? At 5-9 I'm just not quite tall enough to check the oil in the truck without a little stool of some sort. I can find the fold down steps that attaches to the tow ring on either side, but I still want a front step.

I haven't seen one of those "folding step license plate brackets" in years. Possibly JC Whitney would have them, but you'd run the risk of getting a weekly catalog and daily flyer for the next 12 months if they get your address....

On my 2015 F250 there isn't any "good place" to attach a step. The license plate bracket is attached to the top and bottom chrome bumper with 4 small screws that probably wouldn't support a 200 pound man on a "levered step" that folds down. I'm over 6' and still have problems getting "tall enough" to access the engine, so I just slip my foot into the bumper, next to the towing hook (on each side of the license plate) and use the top of the grill near the hood latch as a hand hold to pull myself up.

Have you considered one of the steps that sits over the top of a wheel? This same item could also be used to get stuff out of the bed. I need to get one myself!

Many thanks for your troubles, Hankeye, it is the first one that I tried to run down. The company hasn't made them since I believe they said 2009. And Geno's Garage quit selling them long before that. I have run up against a number of similar sites.

Sounds like you do not want a folding type step that goes over the wheel. At 5'7" I need help and that's what I have had for many years and several trucks. Even use it when washing or clearing windshield. They are really handy due to being used on any wheel/tire and fold up to put nearly anywhere for storage.
