we were there last april and i thought it was very nice.the only down side was you cant drive anywhere,so you have to take the busses, then a boat, depending on your campsite it can be a bit of a walk

You won't be disappointed. One of the nicest campgrounds we've stayed in.

We stayed there several years ago. It was first class like everything Disney does. I highly recommend it. We will be staying there again. There are bus stops at every camping section as stated above. The bus takes you to the Wilderness lodge where you walk to the boat for a 20 min ride to the magic kingdom. it does take up a bit of time. They allow golf carts if you have one. It would cut down on the wait time for the bus. They have horse back riding , the hoop dee do musical review, and nightly camp fire sing a longs. We loved it.

A co-worker of mine gave it 5 stars. After hearing his positive review we have booked a trip in Jan 2016. The only thing I worry about is weather but fingers and toes are crossed.

We stayed there this year. Very nice. Spring for the premium sites in the 100, 200 or 300 circle. Close to the beach and boat. The hoopdy do review was excellent, what a feast.

Just left a few days ago after a 6 night stay. We were in the 1200 loop, and it was very nice. There is so much to do you could just stay there for a week an not even go to Disney.

The Mickey's Backyard BBQ was quite a treat for the kids to meet characters up close. We didn't do the HoopDee Do review dinner, but it looked like a lot of fun.

Trails End restaurant was really nice and good food, and there take out was nice for morning breakfasts or snack runs.

The Meadows area has the pool, campfire area, movie nights, and snack bar. You can get a good lunch there and eat at the picnic tables.

As mentioned, internal buses are really easy to use and can get you around the campground eaily throughout the week. We didn't even move the truck. You can rent golf carts or bring your own, but they aren't really necessary.

The ferry boats can take you to Magic Kingdom directly or to other resorts. Don't forget to watch the electric light parade on the water in the late evening. The kids enjoyed that.

And,... there is so much stuff do do from horse back riding, pony rides, canoeing, boating, etc.... that we didn't even do.

That is my favorite place to take my kids to camp.

I would suggest renting a golf cart. It was a little pricey but made moving around in the campground much much easier for the 5 of us.

If you have bikes that works well also internally in the park.

The buses go everywhere and seem to be there every 10 or 20 minutes so it is great.

Buses run to all the parks but also run internally to most places.

It will be very fun. The electric boat parade is awsome at night at the dock.

If you are going to the parks early or staying late (taking an early tour or a late night dinner reservation) you can drive your vehicle to the park you are going to or end up at park it. That is one of benefits of staying at FWCG you have all the same benefits of the on site resorts.
Loved staying there will definitely be back.

I think the ferry from the Magic Kingdom back to the campground runs up to 900 or 1000. I forget.

Green Ferry (direct to and from Magic Kingdom) starts 30 minutes before park opens and continues till 1 1/2 hrs after park closes.

Hard to think of cons except cost.

You could literally stay busy in the campground for a few days. We alternated with down days.
The park is dark if you arrive at night. The first trip was in a pop-up. Staying a week with two kids in that thing was no vacation. Second trip in a motor-home was much better.
They play movies every night. Great place to bike. Pool is real nice.
We stayed in the 900 loop.
The price was around $82. Enjoy!

Thanks for the info. We've finally decided when exactly were going. Middle of May. So it should be a good time.

Does anyone know the cost of the golf carts there? I can't find the pricing. Thanks!

We just got back and have to give it five stars!

Golf carts are around $30+ a day. If you have one, I would recommend on bringing it. The place is huge with lots of stuff to do without going to Disney. If you don't have a cart then bring a bicycle. The bus system is nice but a bicycle or cart will get you around inside of the campgrounds at a better pace. Watch for the fireworks at 2000 hrs each night at the beach area from the Magic Kingdom Park. The fireworks show is entertaining.

The only negative is watch for $$$ charged for regular items at the shops. A six pack of miller lite is almost $13!! Soda and milk is up there in the same mark up pricing. But there is plenty of other stores outside of the campgrounds with better prices.

I hope this helps.
