Question for those with LED awning strips?

I know many of you have installed the "16' multi colored remotely controlled LED light strip" under your awning and in the pictures they look very nice. I am wondering if the white light "color" is bright enough to read by? Or, are these just mood lighting? I know that some use the 5050 or 3528 so what is your recommendation please?

Thanks for the quick reply's, much appreciated!
Question for Harleyhop. Tell me about your strip and how you installed it please. Did you use the multi color with remote 5050 LED or another type? I'm actually am thinking about the strips on ebay. I have had good luck with the leds for the interior. Your response will be appreciated.

Sjturbo it is the multi 5050 with remote. I got lucky on mine.I fed the cable down the awning pole and tied into the 120 v feed to washer and dryer line in my master bed closet and mounted the dc controller under that on the basement storage wall just behind the battery bay.
Good luck and I hope this helps!

Thanks Harleyhop! I'll have to see what I can come up with. I really only wanted to tie into 12V. We boondock much of the time any my inverter circuit is dedicated at this time.

On our springdale we went with the high density "warm" white only leds. Plenty of light to read with and very easy to look at. We also installed the LED strip in an aluminum channel with a plastic lens. Super polished look.

We wired the lights to the 12v from the yellow door light and used a remote to control brightness.

I installed the 5050 LED strip on our last TT. (2010 Passport 300BH) It was fairly simple and I just tied into the 12v supply to the porch light so I didn't have to fool around with adding another switch. The location of our porch light made this simple. I would recommend getting the higher grade 3m tape. What came with mine wasn't sufficient and started peeling within days. Once I re-did the tape it was still hanging strong (over a year) when I sold it earlier this year for our new Sprinter. It was bright enough that you could read by it even without being under the awning.
