Too much TT?

Javi recently started a thread in which he described what he had "learned" during a visit to an RV sales lot. I can tell you that his experience is not exclusive to Texas. During our trip to Washington, we stayed at the Woodburn RV Park south of Portland, OR. Our neighbor had a Kodiak TT (about 36 ft) which he was pulling with an older Ford Bronco II. I guess he gets by, but this must be a white knuckle ride

Not Joking - he did have a WDH. I wondered if he had just parked a Bronco in front of the trailer. Went over and looked and he had the hitch (ball platform?) plugged into the receiver. He had the thing turned around so the adjustment went up instead of dropping down.....think I'll stick to fifth wheels

TV What???

We had a full size Yukon, with a 30' TT, and while it was in the weight range it definitely was white knuckle driving! Can't even imagine that Bronco II being able to get up to 55mph with a 36', let alone the white knuckle when someone passes him.

The guy probably hitched up the Bronco just to keep it from blowing away in a high wind.

That's so true, with the 4x4, if he has the 2.9L fuel injected engine (rather than the 2.8L carb engine) no worries at all....

Just imagine if he had the optional Mitsubishi 2.3L diesel inline 4 cylinder.... Now that's a pulling monster !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well heck, I feel all silly now with a Dodge 3500 with Cummings engine. When it comes time to retire this truck just think of the $ I can save by buying a Bronco II instead

Apparently a Cherokee will do the job too. I guess I should have researched more before buying my 1 ton diesel.

And today driving down to the Cities, I think I may have seen the opposite. Too much truck. I wish I could have gotten a picture, but me driving and all... It was a jacked up Chevy towing a 30'-32' TT. They had not put a drop hitch on it, so the hitch on the front of the TT was a good 2.5' in the air, and the back end was about 6" off the road. My first thought was they must have to scoop everything with a shovel back to the front of the trailer when they get where they are going. Second thought was that I would love to be behind them a-ways on the interstate when it got dark to see the sparks when the frame hit the road over all the lovely bumps on our interstate.

I'm thinking 2 things:
The salesman said: "Bronco? You will be fine"
And, if I saw that on the road I would call the law.
