I agree. I do wish the P409S had a higher pressure limit.
That said, the decision to upgrade to LRE shouldn't be done without a lot of thought. Case in point, my particular LRD's have an 1805lb average load. According to the table, the pressure should only be ~37psi. So at the 65psi I'm running them at currently, I'm already 28psi overpressurized. Imagine if I went to LRE at 80psi--wooden wagon wheels would be better! Besides, my tandem axles are only rated for 4400lb each. A pair of LRDs at 5080lb already provide the recommended 15% buffer.
The general consensus is to run trailer tires at their full sidewall pressure, but I plan to discuss this issue with RVSEF when I get my wheels individually weighed in Gillette this June. Apparently exceptions can be made.
