New member checking in.
So we'd been thinking a while about getting some form of RV and jumped on the TT bandwagon when we acquired a 2006 28' Outback. I pull it with a F-250 6.7 L Diesel. There's alot to play with and inspect. I'll be checking the forums when I get stumped. Hopefully after I replace ALL 4 tires, we'll be on the road again in no time.

Congrats on your new purchase. Hope you have many great adventures with your new camper. With no knowledge of how the previous owner took care of the camper, if it was used for actual travel or as a stationary seasonal camper, if you are planning on taking the camper on the road, you'll want to get the wheel bearings repacked also. This is good preventative maintenance. Some folks get the wheel bearings repacked every year. I get mine repacked every 2 years. We are as close to full timing and full time traveling as we can get without selling the house. Repacking the bearings is just as important as tires.
If the camper is sitting stationary as a seasonal, then repacking isn't so critical.

Welcome! I would also suggest getting on that roof to check it out. Look at all the seams on all sides for gaps, cracks and holes. RVs do NOT like water in their structures. While doing that go over all the other seams, cracks and crevices with a fine tooth comb to make sure you don't have any hidden problems.

A 2006 will have an EPDM roof; the roof is black with white pigment and as the roof ages, more black can be seen. This doesn't mean the roof is worn out but scrubbing will only make more black show. Get up there and use self leveling Dicor to seal all the penetrations. Clean with alcohol and apply new Dicor right over the old. Get any loose Dicor up, of course. Use non-self leveling Dicor on the roof edges so it doesn't run. Check the plastic on skylights as it tends to crack/craze with age. The roof on an older trailer is the first thing that should be looked at. I have a 12' extending ladder for this purpose that can easily be stored in the front compartment of my 5th wheel as I don't trust the ladder on the rear and it is hard to climb as I am not a spring chicken.
