Does our new truck have integrated TPMS?

I realize this is not really a Keystone question, but I'm hoping to hear from folks knowledgeable about this truck.


We just purchased a 2019 GMC Sierra 3500 Denali HD, crew cab, 4x4, Duramax turbo diesel, DRW and can't find the TPMS in the Driver's Information Center (DIC).


I found one line in the owners manual which says "Your vehicle may have a TPMS...", so it seems it is optional. I went back to the GMC site and walked through the "build your vehicle" and don't see any option which includes a TPMS.


Is this an option with this truck? In which package is it included?


I guess I can still get an aftermarket system - in fact, I can get one which covers both the truck and trailer, but am just surprised that the truck didn't come with one.


Does anyone know what's going on?

Your dually will not have TPMS, not a available on DRW vehicles or at least not on GMs.

Ah, thanks. In fact, I remembered that when looking at the owner's manual on the procedure to reset the sensors after rotating the tires, the process assumed single rear wheels

When you buy the aftermarket system get one that is easy to exclude wheels or set ups. This will keep it from beeping at you when you disconnect the trailer.

Sam on Ram, allows you to run rears at much lower pressure unloaded for a softer ride. I have over 12,000# of tire capacity on the rear axle @ 80 psi, @ 65 psi the recommend loaded pressure I would assume about 10,000#, would really like to have near 5,000# empty, I need to check inflation table for lowest safe pressure. This is day three with the new DRW.

I would be interested to know what tire pressures I can run to afford different rides, load capacities. Can you please tell me where I can find this type of information?

If it makes you feel any better, the single rear wheel 3500 GMC doesn't have the tire pressure monitors either. Apparently a 3500 is considered a commercial vehicle (or can be) and therefore isn't required to have them. That really bugged me as that is one thing I like on the newer vehicles. So I bought the tire minder system and got enough sensors for the truck and the trailer. Problem solved.

Yes, I'm looking at getting an aftermarket unit that will cover both the truck and trailer.

Highly recommend the TST507, been using it for 6+ years on all 10 tires, system reads pressure & temperature, no booster required plus user replaceable batteries. With the dually the flo thru sensors don't fit well on the duals.
Whichever system you get be sure all the wheels have steel valve stems.
