Not been a real good summer

Well, that isn't completely 100% correct. It's just that we haven't nor will make either our Western tour nor our Down East tour. My DW has had some innard problems and many doctor visits which have kept ue fairly close to home. Those seem to be going away. Then yesterday, she turned her ankle on a stone in the CG road and may have broken her anke in the same place as 3 years and 5 years ago. Today I need to call the campgrounds and cancel the Down East stays.

There was a bit of good news though. We do spend much of the summer at a nice CG next to Lake Champlain. The folks in the site nearest the lake are giving it up due to health and we are moving there for next season. No through traffic, no loud weekenders that think they can slobber booze and yammer loudly until the wee hours, plus easy in and out.

We are planning an October trip to VA/NC and maybe SC, hoping neither of us needs to cause a cancellation again.

Dam' but it's he!! to get old but it for sure beats the alternatives

Well at least your still getting out there. Mine has been parked in the backyard since our last outing, last year for the eclipse. Dealership did finally hire a couple of decent techs and I just need to get some minor work done on the TV and we should be good to go. Good thing camping season out here is Jan-Dec.

Sorry to hear that. I can empathize as this year we have been forced to stay close to home as well. I've had 6 cervical spine surgeries over the last few years and now they want to try #7, inserting a spinal cord stimulator. So I've been bounced around from neurosurgeon to neurosurgeon and from one diagnostic imaging and test to another. Finally got a surgical trial date in early Oct so hoping for some relief then. Hope your DW heals and you have an enjoyable fall.

Leve your cell phone home though! Years back my job was supporting a bunch of international power plant installations and we were virtually tied to home as cell phones were just for the wealthy with land lines and a TELEX machine being your life

Luckily she now only 'owns' an air cast and will be tied to a La-Z-Boy for a while. I guess I can't complain with our kinda minor maladies with yours

Amazing how your social life includes your doctors now as you age. So far mine is a yearly visit for a physical and every 4-6 weeks to an ophthalmologist for an injection in an eyeball

Ours didn't have any miles added this summer either!!
Took DW in to have breathing difficulties looked at which has been going on for a while & she's now home where she's recouperating from open heart surgery & a pacemaker, all diagnosed & done in the last 3 weeks. But all is good & on the mend, but talk about a kick in the guts. Getting old ain't for sissys!!!
Fortunately there's next summer!
