School out for summer?

We're planning next springs vacation. We have tickets to Indy 500 May 29. We want to hit the New England area while we're "up north". Trying to decide if we should avoid the New England area after June 1 because of kids getting out of school. Assuming campgrounds will be jammed.
What is the general rule in the New England area as far as when school lets out for summer? End of May, or mid June?? We can do Indy on the tail end of the trip or the front end.

Schools get out here in NJ close to the end of June. Depending on how many days they allow for snow, I would imagine the same in New England. JM2˘, Hank

Connecticut and Rhode Island usually 3rd week in June, Probably the same everywhere. They go back just before Labor Day, so if you're worried about kids, you've wasted your summer.

Most of the New England RV Parks that we have experienced have more than enough separation between sites, and separate playgrounds to allow for some privacy, A Five Star example would be Normandy Farms, Foxboro, MA.(Just outside of Boston, but plenty rustic.) They're on the Web.

Last day of school in Burlington, VT is June 9th. Keep in mind that if you travel the northeast through the last three weeks of May and end up in Indianapolis on the 29th it will be very, very cool in Vermont and New Hampshire for someone from Texas. Indy is nice generally that time of year, but the northeast is cool.....

Excellent info. This will work out great. The DW would prefer the warmer weather. Me...I prefer the cool. I'm more concerned about no vacancies in parks.
Sounds like Indy on the "front end", which is our preference.
Thanks y'all....

It can be hot and humid in Indy that time of year. Still a great place to visit.

Campground in NE open between May 1 and Memorial Day. Generally there is plenty of space until the last full week of June. The weekends are busier but the only one that books up is Memorial Day. Enjoy.
