bathroom vent cover

How difficult is it to install the Camco rain vent cover?
Any holes to be placed into the roof?
What about sealants?
I really want to put one on my new camper just do not want to create a problem.

Do you mean something like a Maxxair vent cover? Google it for a complete installation description.

MaxxAir makes a hinged mount for their covers that mount to the curb of the metal vent. Four small holes in the curb and mounted with stainless steel screws. The hinges allow for easy cleaning of the vents and covers. Spend the few extra bucks and get poly-carbonate covers .... they do not get brittle over time. No holes in the roof and easy to inspect sealant while doing roof maintenance.

Thousands of RV owners have done this very easy DIY install. No holes in the roof or sealant are required. MAxxAir's are the best, either version; permanent fixed or hinged for cleaning or even the power ones. Just google them and read the install sheet.

P.S. If you are really fixated on the CAMCO's, I am pretty sure you can find an install sheet on the net that will answer all of your questions.

While you're up there... you might want to put a rain cover on your power vent too and a Wingman antenna upgrade. That way it's only one trip up and down. Heck, you are going to want it anyhow

Hint... have a helper on the ground, a bucket, and a rope long enough to reach the ground. There's always something you either forgot, or dropped. LOL

I just put on two MaxxairII covers yesterday. The first took about five minutes and the second took about half the time. Very simple mod.

They fasten to the curb on your roof vent. There are no holes drilled in the roof and there's no need for a sealant.

As mentioned above, very easy to install. Drill 4 marked holes in the metal roof vent flanged opening. Takes about 10 minutes. Just read the directions.
I also recommend that you clean and reapply dicor self leveling caulk around the existing vent as needed before installing the cover.

Self tapping sheet metal screws make real short work of the install,I use them all the time.

Thanks guys, it was a really easy project I installed two covers over the bathroom and the Maxxfan in the garage. Self tapping screws are the way to go with these projects. Now we are ready for the beach next week!!!!

You used self-tappers instead of the included stainless hardware?
