How to locate my water pump for replacement

I have a 24RKSWE 1/2 ton model 24' Keystone Cougar.
The water pump will randomly start running and keep running. I have checked for leaks and have found none.
So I want to replace/upgrade my pump.
I have determined it is in a wood, carpet covered cabinet next to the bed in the front.
Does anyone know how to get to the pump?

There is most likely 4-6 screws at the top of the cabinet that you remove. If not check the sides but somewhere you need to remove screws.

ok i've had a bad day so don't bite my head off. but if you have not eyeballed the pump yet you still may have a leak. any way how long does the pump run when it looses it's mind? if the hot water tank was not full the pump will rattle on for a bit. But feel around carefully in the carpet for the screws. there won't be any flat washers to make it obvious. Good luck with the problem!

On my 28 rbs, I Just raised the bed then pulled up on the carpet of the cover. Be careful, the wood is sharp and will scratch your wall.

X2 with GaryWT, just feel around the carpet and you'll find the screw heads

And don't be surprised if you find them to be Roberts head (square drive) #2.

I agree on the square head. Another option might be from the front storage area.

I have the same model trailer, and my water pump will continue to run on long after the faucet has been shut off. Sometimes it will stop, other times I have to shut off the pump power switch and then turn it back on again. I want to replace my water pump too, but so far haven't been able to get at it either. Will post if I can figure a way to get at it without damaging the carpet.

I have a 2012 24RKSWE Keystone Cougar that we just purchased. I finally discovered how to access the water pump. It is located in the carpet-covered cabinet next to the bed in front. The top of the cabinet has only two screws (square drive) holding it down. The screws are in the front and rear edge of the top and covered by the carpeting. I used my wife's sewing magnet to find them. Once the carpeted top is off, access to the pump is great.

Thank you,
After trying to follow the sound and refusing to believe Keystone would put it where it was inaccessible I used the search function here and found this thread.
The compartment was obvious on the left side of the bed once armed with the info above, the screws not so much.

PdxGreg, any chance that you might fill us in on how you came out? Four months has gone by and no response. We all kind of like the little updates.....

Magnets are good for locating screws, another option is a small pick. I use a very small very pointed one, poking until I hit something solid.

Had to use that method a couple of days ago on a "15 outback. Magnet wouldn't find them.

If you click on PdxGreg's profile, you'll notice that his last forum "activity" was on 07-14-2014 at 02:41 PM. That's when he signed off the forum for the last time. He had posted the question on that same day at 12:54 PM, not quite an hour before leaving the forum. Since he's not been back, I doubt that he will see your question or respond in a "timely manner".
