Mounting equilizer sway control on TT

Hello - I posted in the towing section and didn't get any responses, Moved it to Technical - Hope that is okay.

I have a 28RBS and I'm trying to mount the equalizer swing arm. My L-bracket and link plate are lining up right with the plate that holds the propane tanks. If I go behind the cross bar I am past the recommended 32", if I go in front of the propane tanks I'm below the 27" requirement. I know some of you with the same model said you had no trouble. Any ideas on what I am doing wrong? The only option I see is to cut into the cross bar and notch out the space I need.

I have the same front as yours and an Equilizer hitch. I have the L brackets 31" from the front(measured from the center of the L bracket to the tip of the "ball socket". The L brackets are right behind the propane tanks and about 1.5" in front of the cross bar. Maybe your cross bar is closer to the front than mine.

I just went outside and compared your picture to the front of my camper, and it appears that your cross bar is closer to the tanks than mine is, or you have an extra cross bar on yours.

I had to move my propane tanks forward a 1-2". The bottom plate holder is just screwed in. Drilled new holes. If you have the room, maybe thats an option?
