Onan Generator 2019 Raptor Operation Clarification

We recently purchased a 2019 Keystone Raptor. This is our first unit with a generator and we would like to know if it is possible to start the generator within 30 minutes of our arrival at our campsite to begin cooling the camper. We have tried to start to start the generator while hooked up and running idle but the "In Command" system shuts the generator down after less than a minute from start up. Thanks.

Consider the way your "charge line" from the truck to the trailer is wired. IF the generator powers the converter and the converter is charging the batteries, then the charge line from the truck to the trailer is "possibly double charged" receiving power from the tow vehicle (via the umbilical 7 pin connector) and the converter/charger in the trailer.

This "could" damage your truck's charging system, damage the batteries and/or damage the converter system in the trailer.

Welcome to the forum!!

So you’d like to use the “in command” app to start the gen and then turn on the AC to start cooling the interior? And if you get the gen started, it shuts down before you can get the AC running?

What happens if you use the app while parked and not plugged into the truck or shore power?

I’m not that familiar with the in command system, having worked at a dealership that sold units using the “one touch” system.

It may be the In Command going into “Lock out” mode... when tow vehicle is hooked up to RV in command goes into lockout mode to prevent “motorized” functions from working...

Not sure if the Gen set falls into this category... slides and levelers are info in lock out mode

Call ASA Jensen tech support and they can give you a good answer

I do this with mine all the time. If your Air con is ran through the in command system, it may be different.
