Seal on Wire Slideout

I have the slideouts that use wire to pull them in/out. One of the pieces of rubber that seal the wire to the weather stripping has come loose. Does anyone know what is use to secure the piece of rubber to the seal?

Have you used that? Wasn't sure how it would work on the rubber. Thought about 3M77 contact spray... that seems to sticks things together very well.

Yes I have, but it’s been a while since I dealt with cable slides. As I remember it was a few years ago on a customers unit and it never came back.

Contact spray will make a mess (overspray that's difficult to clean up). Super Glue gel is what I've used successfully. Just wear rubber gloves while handling the rubber strip. At least you can pull the rubber gloves off and go for help. If you glue yourself to the side of the trailer, it's tough to dial 911

I used black automotive sealant/glue meant for windshields and such. It's held good for a couple of years. Never thought of super glue before I used the stuff.

I will get the super glue gel. I have the remover for super glue, it works great. Although gloves are always a good idea.

Thanks Slow. I can see now what it is doing. I thought it was just to seal out the water, but it is also a stop. Not a great design as you mentioned. Since this is only 3 months old, I may wait to make the modification and use the super glue for now.

The dealer is still working through the list of things wrong, I will add this to the list. Note to self when trying the fireplace check to see if it heats and not that it makes pretty pictures...ugh

I have used the rubber contact cement gel successfully before, not real messy at all.

Have tried everything from silicon to STMP based sealants.
Latest has lasted 2 years & taken a battering where the wire bracket seats against the frame when the slide is in.
Attached new rubber pads (made from pipe joint rubber sheet) with a product from Soudal called 'T Rex' It boasts as one of 'the strongest adhesive on earth' & so far lives up to it. Soudal is made in Belgium & one of the Tour de France sponsours & a relatively new one in Australia.
It is a fast grab SMX Polymer adhesive.
