Torsion axle?

I read that if my trailer has a torsion axle, that if I need to jack up the trailer for access to wheel, hub, etc, I can back onto a block with one wheel and the other one will come off the ground, instead of having to jack up the trailer at the axle. Now, what is a torsion axle? Is this a good thing, or not something that is very common?

A torsion axle is one where the suspension is provided by 'rubber' inside the axle tube.

We use them, almost exclusively, on the utility (generator) trailers that we build.

I don't know how common they are on RVs.

Here is a link with a couple nice pictures of what they look like.
