When I turn the furnace on the AC units fan turns on as well. Is this normal?

Hi Fred, no it is not normal, do you have it set on auto, if so you might have a bad thermostat or wires touching together on the back of it, might want to check there...............Ron

I put the unit on Furnace...adjust the temperature and both the AC units fan and the furnace turn on.

fan

Fred I do not or have never been told that both fans run at the same time.Have You changed the stat.?Sounds like a wire is tuching where it should not be.Kill all power and remove the stat.see if the wires are loose or tuching each other mark down the number of the different colours and where they go.Now ask some one with the same unit to give You there wire hook up .Should be the same.I would think a easy fix .good luck.Bushman

Mine did run both when I first fired it up after playing with the thermosat, so I read the manual and it said that the fan needs to be set to auto so the ac wont run when the furnace is on. Give that a try

The a/c is not running at the same time, only the fan is. It is currently set to either hi or lo. Must be set to auto. Above info. is correct...Jim
