If you purchased it new it should be still under warranty. Have you checked the fuse panel ...... red led should be lit for blown fuse.

if its under warranty then take it back to the dealer. If its like the fan in the bullet then it just fumes and smoke back ias it has no outside vent. We installe a vortex fan in the roof fan to fix that issue.

Hi there! if you are going to look at it yourself. grab a multi meter. and start at the fuse box any blown fuses if it is a 12 volt fan if 110volt then any popped breakers? if they are good shut off the power to the fan pull the fuse or shut of the breaker. then remove the switch for the fan unhook the wires and check the switch for continuity. withe the multimeter on ohms one way will show 0 ohms the other way will show "ol" or infinity. if you get that then the switch is good. and most likely you have a bad motor. if it is a 12 volt motor you can hook the meter up to the motor leads turn on the power and see if you get a voltage reading + or - is good then the motor is bad. if it is 120 or ac i would not ask you to play with live wires unless you are experianced with that good luck

When I got my Cougar home last year, I noticed the range hood fan didn't work. So I took it to the dealer, explained the problem, and the tech said it was an in-line fuse. He replaced it and all is well. So you may want to look for that.

Fan

Check to see if the underwood light is working, it is on the same fuse in the 12V panel. If light is operational it is in the hood assembly. Possibly a bad switch or motor. It could also be an in line fuse as suggested in a previous post.
