Just purchased a 2013 Chevrolet 2500 what can I expect for mileage unloaded.

I just did a quick google search of that set up and got a return of 13.67 mpg. I was bored I guess..

I purchased my new to me (27,000 miles) 2013 2500HD Silverado EC DMax 4WD in Late May. I use it as a daily driver (60% hiway/40% city) and get 14.5mpg+/-. Took a trip to the fatlands of eastern NC and got 19.2mpg(just 2 of us). Towing (9,000lb 5th wheel with all our gear) - 12.5mpg.

City around 14/15. Hwy 16-21 depending on how you drive. If you like to drive 75-80 expect 16-17, if you keep it around 70-75 expect 17-18, 65-70 expect around 18-19, below 65 and you should start to see 20s. Personally, I just can't go less than 65 when the speed limit is 75, I typically set my cruise at 67 which seems to be a happy medium and I will average 18.5 to 19. In some conditions I can get up to 21.5 at 67.

x2 when without the trailer. Only a couple trips with the trailer so far (purchased TV used 1st weekend of May, think computer was showing 10 to 12.

I did not reset mpg when I purchased truck 2 days ago it's went from 11 to 12 mpg in 2 days of short city driving can't wait to see how it pulls the Alpine

I think you will be disappointed when you hook up to your 3535RE. Power and drivetrain isn't a problem, you are overloading your 2500. I had a 2011 2500 duramax that I pulled a 35' Jayco with. I pulled the Jayco okay, but was right at the limit. We pulled our 3500RE once and we traded it in for a 3500 dually. The difference between the two campers....the pin weight was almost the same, overall weight was 2k less on the Jayco. That 2k lbs difference on 2,500 lbs of pin or different front cap design/aerodynamics was enough to give me a tail wagging the dog feel.

Hope your experience is different than mine, but IMO a 3500 dually is the only way to go with a 15k lbs, 40' 5th wheel.

I stayed with a length limit of 36 feet for our 2007 GMC dura max crew cab diesel and six speed Allison. It handles very nicely with the Alpine 3010RE
Yes. We looked at the larger Alpines but we decided our truck would not be adequate with 40 foot fifth wheel. No regrets. We don't miss the extra 4 feet but our truck loves us and we are pulling safe

I have a 2006 Duramax, I know it will be different than yours and I have had some work done on it. But I have recently returned from about a 2,000 mile trip with an overall 11.4 MPG hand calculated. I have to say I am very pleased with that. Of course I wish it would be better, but on the other hand it could be worse. Towing my Alpine 3600RS

The 06 and 07 are both quite a bit different than the 11 and up. They have less payload, but usually get better mileage due to fewer emissions. They also have a bit less power/torque, but make up for it with....you guessed it , fewer emissions.
