Look at post #8 and you'll see pictures of a Toyota door pillar decal. There is a similar decal on your driver's side door pillar. The payload will be listed there. It may be called "Maximum cargo load" or "maximum load"

You'd be surprised how many don't know...

The best way to be sure is to load the TV just as you would for a trip, family, dogs, fuel, wood and anything else you might haul on a trip and then hit the scales... the difference between the GVWR (on a sticker in the driver's door) and the actual weight is the remaining payload.

The short cut is to look on the sticker in the drivers door frame and see what it says... however this will not include anything you've added to the TV including bumpers, hitches, passengers, tools etc...

That is the total amount of weight your truck can CARRY not tow. That is how much You, passengers, stuff, pin weight/tongue weight, bikes in the bed, hitch, etc. From bumper to bumper, what you can carry. This number has no bearing on your TT weights.

In my opinion, the GM 5.3L is not capable of pulling much more than the truck, by itself. I have just traded for a 2013 K1500 with the 6.2L, 6 speed, and 3.42 gears. It is a sports car without the trailer, but with the trailer in tow, it isn't exactly a powerhouse, even with the advertised 407 HP.

I have towed a 4,000# boat with a 5.3L, 6 speed transmission, and 3.42 gears..... it felt like I was dragging the anchor even in tow/haul mode.

Contrasting my experence with the 5.3L pulling 4,000# and the 6.2L pulling 7,500#, I can't imagine pulling a 5er with anything less than a K2500 and 6.6L Diesel.....

Just my $.02.
