Outside speakers

Hi All
I have a 2010 Fuzion 405 Touring Edition II with outside speakers. We have had some heavy rains in So.Fla and noticed inside the drawer under the fridge had some water in it. Started checking and found that the speaker cones were cracked and mostly not in tack. Has anyone else had this problem and if so what speakers did you replace them with. Thanks.

I just noticed the same issue with my Raptor. I have not replaced the speakers yet. The Sony's that are in there do not have a very good rating on several websites that I searched. I will replace with an upgraded speaker, just don't know yet. I am more concerned about the water penetration and considering some sort of shield over the speaker after replacement.

I had the same problem with mine and got some exact replacements at West Marine. Size and screw pattern were exactly the same and when I got mine they were on sale but all of those things together rarely happen to me!!!!

Wink

Good Catch, I called my repair shop and had them check mine because everytime it rains hard I have water around my sink and kitchen window. Sure enough it is coming from the speaker enclosures. Going to have that fixed while they are repairing my wheel well damage from my blow out.

Thanks,

The water may not be coming in via the speaker openings. I had a similar problem of water under the refrigerator and the culprit ended up being water sheeting down the side of the unit during a heavy rain and entering the refrigerator vent door, and then getting into the wall (the rough cut for the fridge opening wasn't sealed very well, or more accurately... not at all.) Caulking that area (inside the vent frame at the junction to the wall) cured the problem completely.

I definately believe mine is coming from the Speakers. I have had my kitchen windowremoved and reinstalled with new sealant and tested theh window with a garden hose. If the leak were coming from the fridge then the water would be on the floor and not on my counter top around the window. I checked with my repair facility yesterday, they have completed the wheel well repairs and will be looking at the water leak on Monday.

Thanks.... Bill

Talking

Got my Second Home back from my dealer today.... Whahoooooooo.... All fixed up again to include my Leaking Speakers, yes, I said Leaking Speakers.... They took both speakers out of the side of the trailer and found that not 1 but both speakers were leaking because the baffles were BOTH mounted Backwards. The corrected the install issue, resealed and tested.... NO MORE WATER
