Lube Slide Cables/Pulleys

What is the best thing to lube the slide cables/pulleys with? Last time I tried some wheel bearing grease on the cables and WD40 on the pulleys. It worked for a while but is binding again now. Just wondering what everyone else uses...

Matt have you checked everything to make sure it is in proper adjustment? I've never lubed a cable system. I've cleaned the cables, even took a rag with silicone spray on it and wiped them to clean them but never actually lubed the cables, pulleys etc. I looked a the mtce. manual and there is no mention of lubing anything. Sounds like something is maybe out of alignment causing it to bind?

My manual specifically states that the pulleys are sealed and there is nothing to lubricate.

In my opinion it wouldn't hurt to wipe silicone on the cables.

Yes they appear to be in proper alignment. When the slides are closed you can easily get to the top two pulleys on each side as well as the cables. Last time I sprayed them with WD40 and used the wheel bearing grease on the cables and it smoothed up for a while but now the slide will move in slow then stop about 3/4 of the way in. Just wondering if anyone else has this problem...

Based on what I've read in this forum, might be related to wear bar under the slide.
