bring on the uneven campsites
I kinda stumbled across some left over headers from a pole barn i was working in last week. there were two 30 inch chunks on the trash pile. i looked at them, and thought to myself, "self, what can you do with them?". i wasn't to sure, so i threw them in the back of the truck and hit the road. i had a 3 hr drive home, and got to thinking. i bet i could cut them down and put some handles on them and use them for under my jacks. sure enough the kids wanted to play outside so i figured i would tear into it. and of course, the kids lost intrest on playing as soon as they saw me unlocking the tool box's on my truck. so between the three of us, we knocked it out. they are about 11 inch's thick and i made them 10 inch's long, so i could get 6 blocks out of them. they are 8, 2x6, glued and pressed from the mill, you can't get much stronger from pine lumber. i am sure they will outlast my trailer, and maybe me.
Cost:
chunks of header= $0.00
ruined handles out of back of my truck=$0.00
Cleaning crew= priceless

You can say that again .... they even dusted off the blocks with their butts. Cute kids ... You are blessed, Hank ....... but the blocks will be around forever and I don't think anyone will run off with them ... if they do they won't be running very fast or far.

Thanks hank, but you would be suprised at how light they are. my boy was actually able to pick it up and move it around. when they were a whole, they had a bunch of weight behind them, but sepratly they might only be a few pounds. suprised me anyhow.
