E Rated Tires on OEM 15" rims?

Attention tire gurus:
I am wondering if I can replace the oem D rated tires 22575r15 tires with e rated (same size) using the oem 15" alloy wheels on my 2010 outback 329fb? I have 15" "towmax str power kings". I found E rated Maxxis available online in that size. Can the alloy factory rims handle 80psi?
I simply dont trust the tires I have even though they are brand new. I have read too many horror stories. My trailer weighs in at 11700 loaded with GVWR of 12k. I could kick myself. Keystone made a mid year change to 16" wheels and E rated tires. My fiver was a early year model and I didn't even think about tire quality or size when I bought it new.

I would pay to have one of the tires dismounted from the rims. On the inside should be a tire pressure rating stamp on the inside of the rim listing the max allowable tire pressure. If they agree with the Tire and Rim Manufactures Association.

What is the maximum tire pressure that you are running now with the 15" D rated tires?

I wanted to do the same thing with my Cougar. It turned out OEM steel rims were 65psi max. Since I needed new rims I went to 16". Psi was not stamped into rim, just max. load in lbs.. Make sure the valve stems are rated for 80psi or higher. I went to five tire shops to find the right stems because the place I bought my tires did not have them. I have to give them credit for admitting it and waiting for the right stems.

Ugh. I was hoping I wouldn't need to buy new wheels as well. Hankpage, what year is your trailer. Are yours the aluminum "like" wheels?

Sorry, just saw your Sig. 2007. Can't tell from pic what wheels you have though.

White spoke steel wheels. 16s are the same ... about $50 a piece. Sold the old tires and rims with 5000 mi. on Craig's list for $350 and they were gone in three days. I just did not trust the Chinese D rated tires and I told the buyer that.

I have the aluminum rims on my raptor and went with the 'E' rated do to weight, and I keep 80 psi at all times. I have put many miles on them and are fine.

I would like to make the switch to 16" rims but I am not sure if this would raise the height of my trailer. I am already 14' high (top of A/C)
I have to pay attention to the overpass height signs.

Wheel manufacturers are allowed to use a load number as long as it relates to the load range pressures. For instance, a wheel with a load number of 3042 would indicate it's suitable for all LRE tires (80 psi).
