Slide leaks when closed

Hello everyone! I’m new to the forum and I have a 2016 hideout 31rbds and my living area slide leaks only when closed. I cannot figure this out and before I bring to a shop has anyone had this problem?

Have you crawled up on the roof and looked to make sure that there are no leaves or small sticks stuck to the top seal? You will need to visually inspect the rubber seal around the ENTIRE slide from the outside. Also you will want to insure that your slide is fully retracted. Keep us up on your progress.

I did and everything looks good. To the rear of the slide it looks like it might be coming in inbeween the wall and the end closest to the bedroom is coming out of the metal bottom edge. I don’t understand how a 2 year old camper can already be leaking so bad. Very disappointed with the unit!

Sounds like the seal is not closing properly. Make sure there is nothing caught up under the seal. Put out all the way, get up on a ladder, and run your hand around the seal to make sure something is not under it. Also inspect it to make sure it has integrity all the way around.

Also some pictures of what you're seeing or thinking will help.

Another question, it only leaks when the slide is in and not when it's out?

That certainly sounds like something is allowing your wiper seal to not lay flat.

Is your water pump or any of your outside water connections located on this area?

Welcom to the forum. You are asking a qustion on a thread that is 4+ years old so you're replies will likely be limited.

For what its worth knowing this is a 4 year old thread. I have had similar issues with our bullet. Found evidence of water having ran a cross the floor when we pulled it out of storage last time we used it. The water left a rusty brown residue. Guessing its stained from live oak leaves making it brown. Next time I'm going to jack up that side of trailer , and will inspect the seals before we leave it again Sunday afternoon.

If you search Youtube, you will find a video of leaking water into the slide along the bottom trim and what they did to fix it.
