Flame adjustment

I have a 2022 Cougar 355FBS with the Suburban gas water heater. I noticed some soot on the out side of the trailer, which I understand is caused by a por mixture on flame. However, I can not find anywhere to adjust the flame mixture on the SW6DELC. Any thought would be appreciated.

You need to verify the gas supply pressure from the regulator…it may be set low or restricted..someone needs to check it with a manometer
Call your selling dealer and if they won’t take you ..tell them you smell gas and suspect a leak. They might jump on it ..hate to be dishonest but gas problems should be at the head of the line IMO

Also wouldn’t advise trying to mess around with it unless you have a thorough knowledge of lp gas and pressures

Suburban uses a fixed orifice. There is no adjustment. I would make sure the burner tube is clean and clear of any obstructions. You can remove the orifice and blow it out “backwards”. Do not use any probes, there isn’t a ruby in the orifice but it is a precise size.

If your still getting a “lazy flame” then I would do as Jason suggests and test line pressure at the gas valve if the water heater.

Thanks much. Bad part, I purchased in New York and I am now in California in an RV Resort. I don't have a tow vehicle. I will find a mobile tech.

You can also try calling a local propane supply and service company..their service guys could likely take care of it for about the same price
