The folks in the parks are changing, their experience level is dropping and with many you will encounter a "city" attitude vs what we have all been used to in the past. Just trust, verify and be prepared because the landscape IS changing.
My hope is that the newbies that don't understand the lifestyle will go away when life returns to somewhat normal.

I seriously doubt that "ghetto folks" would have the funds for RVing. Let's not go down this road.

Actually - you are right. My bad, Poor choice of words. Disrespectful "Newbies" would have been a better choice and more accurate.

Chuckster, just looked at your profile. There is no use me staying here. I clearly don't want to be around socialist idea's, we will never agree. I don't want to be apart of what is happening in America, caused by liberal democrat socialist.

Well you have a choice not to participate, in this or any other forum. Your broad statement can be taken as offensive since you don’t know anything about me other than my previous and present employment.

Feel free to stop responding, again it’s YOUR CHOICE. But I do know that ALL Internet forums have guidelines that have to be adhered to. If you feel you can’t or won’t follow the guidelines set forth by the owners of this forum just let me know and I’ll take care of it.

I am about as far from socialist as you can get but you are off base. You have zero idea about Chuck (and he does not exhibit any of the tendencies you ascribe to him) and making huge assumptions along with broadbrush based comments on a public forum based on those off base assumptions is what is wrong with America at the moment - and just wrong period. I don't see "democrat socialist" anywhere on his profile....

Firearms related comments along with politics are both prohibited on this forum - it is for RV related issues and the topics related to RVing not including those items. Please read the Community Rules located at the bottom of every page then familiarize yourself with them and abide by them if you continue to use the forum.

In all fairness Chuck the thread does start with a story about using a firearm, with pictures of the alleged weapon.
I understand not wanting certain dialog concerning firearms but when the premise is in place it can be hard to "regulate ".
Essentially when the topic is firearms you are going to get comments from many prospective s, including from those that are permitted to conceal carry.
I guess it's a "goes with the territory " kind of thing. A fine line to adhere to for sure.

Yes it is a fine line, and all of us moderators try to keep threads “in line” with some latitude, not easy all the time. Should we simply close and delete ANY thread as soon as a firearm is mentioned. It wasn’t the FOCUS of this thread as I saw it in the beginning.

Sadly Campground etiquette is a subject that a lot of campers need to learn. Its to bad that some campers only think about them selves instead of everybody around them.

Unfortunately nowadays it's not limited to campgrounds or newbie campers!
In Costco yesterday the DW was looking at new throw rugs when another woman about our age crowded in front of both of us to look at the same rugs, never an "excuse me" or "sorry" just bullied her way in, she took a rug starting walk away as we stepped forward & here she came again to swap for a different rug. Fortunately my DW kept her cool & forced me to keep my cool & my tongue or the fight may of happened right there in the rug aisle.

Perhaps she thought it was the “throw down” rug aisle and she was making the first move?

Sorry the Dad humor is hard to control sometimes
( clears throat) uh… yeah anyway no need to respond to this bad humor …my apologies

That sort of thing happens to my DW all the time. She has braces on both legs that go from her thighs to inside her shoes for foot drop. She has osteoporosis and subsequently very fragile bones. Women will nearly knock her down to get in the check out line. nI tell her she must look ;ilke she's towing a trailer. She isn't amused by that.

She goes to the local grocery store regularly as they fill our prescriptions. Just before Christmas it happened and the cashier witnessed it. The cashier closed her line and called the manager. She told the manager what happened and the cashier reopened her line for my DW to check out and the manager asked my wife if she wanted them to call the police and they were willing to testify to an assault. My wife said that wasn't necessary and the manager told the offending woman that she was banned from ever coming into the store again. My DW said she told the woman that she didn't expect "special treatment" because of her disability but did expect to not be treated like crap because of it.

My wife is in there a lot and the employees know her well. They tend to be older with a basic respect for people. It's sad there aren't more folks working with the attitude that they have.

As we discuss the deterioration of our campground etiquette here's a little ditty that sort of touches on that for your entertainment;

Man, kudos to that cashier and manager! That's a beacon of hope. Too many won't work, or show up, or even care about service to any customer. Let alone interject on a customer's behalf. I sure hope that store stays in business for a long time

I'm that guy that will speak up, in Canada anyway. Without being rude, sometimes people have to hear they're being selfish. I let the elderly and people with a couple of items jump in front of me, it's just courtesy and respect.
Not a C&W fan but that song is 100%

Thanks Danny, funny song. I am the beginning of the boomers. All them boys came home from the war as men and whoa did the population take off! I like both Country Boy Can Survive and Long Haired Country Boy, but relate more to the Daniels tune than the Williams Jr. tune.
And I hope everyone realizes Dale Evans and NOT Roy Rodgers wrote "Happy Trails". Neither Dale nor Roy ever used bad words, and whether they did or not my belief growing up was they never thought bad thoughts about others either. Because of them I tried to do the same. My heroes, The King of the Cowboys and the Queen of the West. Happy Trails!
