Airless tires

Saw this today…Michelin expects a 2024 release..it’s a wheel and tire all in one …no air……don’t know if it will catch on..kinda crazy looking

As the guy said, Michelin (and everyone else it seems) is looking for some kind of slant on "green" . In that mindset common sense and reality somehow become lost. I can see it now; a tire(1) and wheel(1) set not compatible with anything costs a mere $2500. Hmmmm, made of rubber and plastic? Well, it's going to wear out and those plastic compound vanes are going to fail and then what? Talk about a "tread separation". And then....where do we put all THOSE chunks of rubber and plastic?

Sort of like wind and solar. Green? Not hardly. In the US they say it is because all of the components are built in those factories running full tilt in China (we don't have many anymore). So no, they're not green (nor is the production of the wind turbines) and the land/environmental/visual pollution from both is monumental.

Cool idea but just not realistic IMO (that design). I can only imagine what it would be like trying to tow a 20k rv on a truck with those on the back.

Yeah the post office will probably end up purchasing them at a super inflated price for their fleet..it will end up in gov vehicles and company’s that want to portray a green profile at a loss

I think Jasin has reached the end of YouTube videos and is starting over.

I'm just wondering about how these tires will ride once the slots get full of ice and snow. Will it cause them to thump or shake or feel like they're unbalanced? I think I'll stick to the pneumatic tires and let the kids deal with this new concept.

Several heavy equipment manufacturers are already using these tires (or whatever they can them?) on their equipment.

My last try at rehab “they” suggested I watch the entire Bewitched catalog followed by any four year span of days of our lives on vhs…it’s pretty intensive…not for anyone that hasn’t hit rock bottom

1) I wonder how heavy those tires/ wheels are with that much rubber in them

2) I wonder how much fuel mileage would go down with that much extra weight on a vehicle

3) I wonder how stiff the ride would be in vehicle at -30 F with that much frozen rubber beneath you, and how long it would take that tire to “warm up” to being round again instead of oval in that kind of weather
