You don’t see a Buick tow a fiver every day

Got this from another site. Further proof that some folks do swim in the shallow end of the gene pool…

Wow! Thought I was right back in FL! After looking looks like the Buick has front plates so rules out FL....but who knows with that rig; probably had some choices.

About 1962 we went camping a couple hours down I-80. Coming home Dad and I in a 1957 Chevy 4 door pulling a 16-18 ft fiberglass boat with 75 horse outboard. Mom and brother leading in the 1963 Dodge station wagon pulling a small camper.

Chevy probably vapor locked. We are on the side of the interstate mom in front. We DO have lots of nylon ski rope! Rope around the axle of the camper to the 57 Belair.

Down the interstate we go. Station wagon pulling camper pulling Chevy pulling boat. After 5 miles or so Dad puts the Chevy automatic into gear and it starts! Took a mile to get mom to pull over so we could remove the ski rope!

We all survived!

I seen that awhile back, someone thought it was Portland Ore. I cannot see enough background to confirm that. But I expect that kind of stuff in Portland. The mayor downsized the Police Bureau and ended the traffic unit of about 30 cops. Few patrol cops conduct traffic enforcement. They get dispatched to 7 levels of calls for service. Many times 5 though 7 never get a cop response. After they sit in the dispatch holding pattern for 4 plus hours. I drove though Portland for the 1st time in 1.5 years. Several weeks ago. There are road shoulders with blocks of motorhomes, travel trailers and a few boats that people just parked them and live in them. Not sure if they are called homeless people still or not. They do have a place to live and spent money to buy them.

The front landing gear looks like it’s an inch off the ground…would be an interesting insurance claim ( if they had any) if they ran into you at a stoplight…which cars insurance would pay? The Buick or the explorer?

Also noticed that the expedition is being pulled with a tow strap, not a hitch or anything rigid, so that means the Expedition HAD to have someone in it operating brakes, otherwise the whole thing would have accordioned up on the Buick. I believe this is either 1) staged or 2)more going on than it looks like.

Oh, first look I missed the tow strap.
What's the tow and weight rating on that pickup bed?

Asking about insurance, It pretty damn rare anyone has a drivers license or vehicle license up to date and insurance forget that. If they get stopped its more tickets and impound the vehicles. Vehicles usually get scrapped or sold at auction and hit the road again with other drivers.
