Spare Tire Mount

After the storage tray that slides out the back frame of my 2014 Cougar bent, it went through reinforcements and weight loss. I moved the generator to the back of the truck and added a spare tire winch to the front of the trailer.

I used the same winch that’s used on my truck 2013 Ford F-350 dually. I cut a hole in the floor of the storage compartment and used a piece 3/16” steel plate to reinforce it. I added a piece of square aluminum tube so the tire didn’t rest on the LP line for the quick-disconnect. I think it was under $100.00 for everything. Keystone makes a mount for frame mount but this was cheaper.

The winch is mounted next to the 4 battery box I added to the compartment.

That is the hanger that goes through the center of the wheel.

The wheel and tire underneath the front.

Clever, the under mount for my spare is a giant pain. I was not impressed when I needed to pull my spare.
