Yep level

Leaving in morning. Hook up 5th wheel and not level. Is this going to be a problem for my slides.

Why wouldn't you level your trailer?

Your first post didn’t explain what you were looking for.

Are you nose high or low? If your nose high, it probably won’t level still hooked up. What Autolite level system?

I’m leaving in the morning early so hooked up 5th this evening. Since camper is now not level will that cause a problem with my slide being out.

Shouldnt if it’s not level front to back. Un level side to side may cause issues depending on how far tilted.

What would be to far. Doesn’t seem that much about 1 bubble off

Hard to say. 1 “bubble” off? On a 6’ level, having the bubble out of the lines would be too much to me.

Okay thank you. Guess I will unhook. I only used a small level just to check it. Not even a foot long

My question would be why did you hitch up with the slide out?

Reason for hooking up is expected heavy rain in morning n wanted to get ahead

Well I doubt that hooking up would change side to side level. That said most likely OP was referring to front to rear, it is a 1/2 ton model 5er towed with an F250, not stated if 4x4, so not sure how nose high it might be.

To the OP, hope you didn't get too wet this morning hooking up!

Understand that but what I don't understand is why the slide is out. If it's because you haven't finished packing then I would be more concerned about doing that first and not tracking water & mud in the camper. I don't like having the slides out while hitching or unhitching and only run them out and in ifbit's near level and not being raised/lowered or otherwise moved.

With our Montana High Country fifth wheel, regardless of where we are stopped, if the slides are coming out, the trailer is as close to level as possible. If doing an overnight, the truck is always unhitched ... regardless, boards under the tires if need to adjust a manual level as much as possible, blocks under the leveling jacks (Lippert 6 point leveling system), and the trailer is leveled before deploying the slides.

In order to make it easier to hitch in the morning, I'll pull the truck forward just enough the bed rails clear the front of the camper, so in the morning, I'll that needs to be done is retract the slides, retract the jacks, and pull the truck backwards to hitch up again.

I know it can be done, ... deploying the slides while unlevel ... but I'm not a gambler, and I'd rather face a few minutes of discomfort in the morning, or rain, or bad weather for a few minutes, than run the risk of the slides getting damaged when attempting to leave in the morning, and THEN still have them break and STILL stuck there having to fix them, which is now much more of an inconvenience than taking the few minutes to do it right in the first place.

when I am stopping roadside for a sleep I use the manual level and see how close I can get it, if I cant get it level enough then I will unhook and just pull the truck far enough so the pin is clear of the hitch plate then i still manual level to get it perfect. then I only need to back up 1' in the morning and I am ready to go.

If you're stopping for a night or leaving early in the am or avoiding the rain.
Leave it hooked up, don't use the jacks to level. It should be close to if not perfectly level when hooked up.
My travel trailer and this 5er are really close. I had to slightly open kitchen slide to use bathroom in TT. This one is wide open to bathroom, kitchen, and bedroom. That's why I chose it.
We do a bit of 2 -3 night stays and hop around.
And dare I say a couple walmarts and cracker barrel stops. If I cared about perfectly still sleep, I would stay in hotels, but they would have to have "Magic finger" beds with a pile of quarters beside the bed

oh I would if I could, on flat level ground I am dead on but they design the roadside pull offs here with a good angle on them to discourage people from camping so I do have to level so the fridge is level at least.
