Furnace issue

Our furnace stopped working this weekend. We have propane and a good power supply. The pilot is lit. The fan turns on for 30 seconds then shuts off.

I replaced the control board this morning with no difference.

Ideas?

Could be the propane regulator. It's located at the propane tanks. Easy test is to light your stove. As you light the second and third burner the first burner should burn steady with no real change in flame as additional burners are added. If you see "sputtering" I'd suspect the regulator valve may be the issue.
You don't say what year your trailer is, but this is common in trailers that are 4+ seasons.
Although they can fail anytime

What kind of furnace ... Suburban or Atwood? Pilot light? If you have a pilot light this must be an older unit.

If sail switch doesn’t close when blower starts up or flame sensor isn’t working then furnace will not complete sequence and ignite.

What year is your RV, make, model

Like Chuck said, I would suspect the sail switch has failed.

And the limit switch is also part of the circuit prior to ignition.

Ok I’m a moron . I was looking at the refrigerator. No wonder changing the board didn’t fix the furnace.

I’m dropping it off to get fixed.

First, find out what's wrong with it. It's covered under warranty for 2 years from the initial delivery of your RV (if you bought it new). There's a reason why manufacturers provide a warranty, so NO, it's not a "class action suit" if they fix it under warranty.

At this point, you don't even know what's wrong with it. Once you find out what's wrong, please post the problem and the fix.

Class Action Suit?? You just discovered you are having an issue, your neighbor has an issue and the cause is yet unknown. The OP had an issue as well and has sent his in for repair under warranty. No one even knows what the problem is, what caused it or the solution but the first thought is Class Action Suit? Might want to grab hold of something because RV life is full of little problems. Most folks just get on it and fix it. Don't guess the thought of a class action suit ever crossed my mind in all of the issues we've had and fixed and all of those other issues that others have had that were like them....I've got better things to do than spend my time trying to set up a class action suit that will go nowhere every time I hear of someone that has some sort of problem that sounds like mine....

Fyi..i did say possibly...i think would be an issue for Dometic..if so many are having the same issue.
It remains to be seen if the warranties are paid for.
I find it very strange 2 people & others in this forum with the same issues.. On Brand new vehicles,?

You find it "strange that 3 people have a furnace issue??? Co-incidentally, you don't know WHAT your issue is yet..... And you're talking a class action lawsuit ???

For the record, just to "offset those three furnace issues" I'd suspect there are 10,000 without a furnace issue......

I'd urge you to read the forum community rules (there's a tab at the bottom of every forum webpage with a link to the rules).... We frown on using this forum to settle issues with any manufacturer. Please take a look at the rules. Thanks

Are you aware that Dometic has already had a recall?

Good morning everyone,
It appears that I have the same, or a very similar, issue as the OP. An onsite repair man is schedule to repair my Dometic furnace this morning and I will post the results once he finishes up. He attempted to repair the unit last weekend and after a few hours of troubleshooting, with Dometic on the phone as well, they decided to order a blower motor and a sail switch. I’ll report back later today.

Hello StevyG.
The recall you mention is for refrigerators manufactured between 1997 and 2003.
You already had a repairman over, did you contact Dometic? As it is still under warranty you might want to pay attention to your steps in repairing so as to keep the warranty in tact.

Good luck, it doesn't sound like it should be too hard to run down and fix.

Neighbor in the little park I'm in, had similar issue. I found the schematic online for it, and it looked to be either the sail switch or the high limit thermostat. I think it ended up being the high limit thermostat.

It's easier than you know, to get in a batch of bad parts that wind up in your customer's hands
