Don't typically eat much popcorn while camping, but at home we love whole kernel corn popped in coconut oil on our oil popper.

Popcorn is a take-it-or-leave-it thing for me, but DW really likes it. She buys raw popcorn from a local family-run company that sells those big and little cans of popcorn that people give as gifts, mail-order, etc. https://www.velvetcremepopcorn.com/
A couple years ago, we found ourselves camping next to one of the owners and his wife. He was a great guys so we chatted quite a bit. We learned that they use coconut oil to po their corn. These folks were using it to fry up some fish they had caught and it was very tasty.
DW now keeps coconut oil on hand just for popcorn.

Popcorn with no butter or salt is like a veggie sandwich, only half made!

Sometimes I class it up a little and add melted butter, garlic salt, pepper, and parmesan cheese. Goes well with beer or red wine

Old fashioned popcorn with an Old Fashioned to wash it down. For a change up pitch, we make caramel corn too. Now I cant wait to get home.

Yes, popcorn most any way y'all described! And as TT said, no salt/butter, no popcorn. And that means REAL butter. Margarine is not butter no matter how you spread it.

For me, the best is air popped (second is the Orville Redenbacher microwave thingie) with butter and Lawry’s seasoned salt on it. Yum! Microwave popcorn is banned in our house. I haven’t been able to stomach the smell of it since I was pregnant with our first-born years ago.

So we are HOOKED on making kettle corn while we camp. Bought one of these to keep in the camper and DH adds oil & sugar and then the kernels and salt, and it makes fantastic kettle corn! Just like you’d get at the state fair.

Our grandkids where over and I started making popcorn on the stove. The youngest one pops up "grandpa you make popcorn in the microwave". Where have we gone wrong.

Our favorite is popcorn, salted/buttered, with Hot Tamales cinnamon candy, pop a couple kernels of popcorn with a couple candies in your mouth.

Definitely not for the "faint of heart" but sprinkle some Tony Cachere's Creole Seasoning (green container) on a bowl of popcorn....

If you want the old timey theater taste, I do yellow popcorn in a LOT of coconut oil in a large covered saucepan, shaking constantly, dump it in a large bowl and pour on the melted butter and a ration of salt. Must be accompanied by a carbonated beverage of your choice to help cut all the fat and salt. In my case a Corona Extra with lime in a longneck.
