Honda EB3000c generator

Am looking at purchasing a near new Honda EB3000c and wanted to know if anyone has one and how well it performs.

You'll find that when it comes to gensets you'll get a ton of different opinions here. So here's mine
I always had Honda's on the job sites for my guys, dead quiet, start first pull every time, you can't kill them and they can be abused plus they last forever.
When it comes to gensets you get what you pay for, some will last, some won't. If your heart is set on a Honda you won't go wrong.
Oh BTW I own a Yamaha for the trailer but then again I had my reasons for buying it just like everyone else own theirs for their own reasons as well.

I have had the smaller Honda EU1000i for several years. It's been highly reliable and is super quiet.

Last weekend at a race we camped next to somebody that had the equivalent size Yamaha generators (2 of them running in tandem), and it was miserable, we almost considered moving, those damn things were so loud and they ran them all freakin day until late in the evening. I'm not experienced with the larger Honda model you're looking at, but if you buy Honda, you get quality.

I have camped with a friend that has that exact generator. It is whisper quiet and runs a long time on little gas. He loves it and you can not go wrong with it. I personally could not afford one and don't boondock very much so I bought a champion 3100 inverter. It does what we need and was affordable for us. I have owned it for a year or so now and it works great. But again. You can not go wrong with a Honda. I have never heard any bad reviews quality wise.

If 2000's, they're actually very close in dB's.

Dunno, maybe there was something wrong with theirs. When I run our EU2000i (typo in my original post, it's a 2000, not a 1000), people are amazed at how quiet it is, but everyone in our camp complained about the Yamahas next door, they were easily twice as loud.

A buddy of mine rented a eu2000 and they are whisper quiet. And seemed to sip fuel also. Not to mention it is super portable.

In my case, the 3000 wasn't quite big enough to run my AC, but a little more than I needed to run everything else. I chose the 2000, with the plan to add the companion next summer (just for AC) The 2Ks are easier to handle and store and two of them isn't much more than one 3K. Cant go wrong with a Honda of any size, you get what you pay for. Good luck.

Any brand that you run in tandem will be noisy and I for one can never understand why a person would buy 2 gensets that'll tick off the person next to them when they could buy just one that'll meet their needs.
I always smile when I see people complaining about the costs of a genset but yet they spend upwards of 60 grand on their trailer.
I'm off grid more than anything as I hate screaming kids and dogs running all over the place plus I like my peace and quiet without hearing gensets running day and night.
I bought a single bigger unit that'll run everything that I need. It sits in the back of the truck and it's dead quiet back there.
I see some AC units just struggling on a smaller unit and I just think about the cost of replacing it shortly down the road.

I can't lift mine either and that's why I'll invite my brother over for a few beers while I'm packing to go. He picks it up and has it bolted down before I can finish my beer.

Two Honda 2000's with a IPI extended run tank. Need to charge batteries or run microwave? Just run one. Want A/C? Run both. Easy to move around and store.

That's the ticket.

Run just one...low noise and gas consumption. Easy placement for minimal noise window. Gorilla not required.

I like this set up too. If the champion dies on me that is the route I may take. For now my little yellow gen set does what we need.

What generator do you have?

Two smaller generators aren't necessary louder than one bigger. Plus, the two smaller often provides more power than the single bigger one. And you can run only one if both aren't needed. Lot lighter too.

You have me confused by saying that 2 little gensets can provide more power than 1 big one? Can you please explain that to me? My whole point of having a single genset was so that I could run everything without any issues with straining anything on the unit.
I have mine bolted in the back of the truck and I have no need to move it around. I see no reason to move it around as it's nice and quiet back there plus that's where it's wired into the trailer. I honestly wouldn't want to lug around gensets everytime that I set up.

It depends on the size. Most of these discussions are about 2000 and 3000 watt generators.
Two 2000 watt generators gives you 4000 watts, which is more than the single 3000 watt generator.
Like I said, it depends on the size of the bigger one and the size of the little ones.

Yep, two Honda 2,000 watt gens will fit in the floorboard behind my front seats, in the truck bed behind the cab and the 2x8 load divider board, between the tailgate and the rear cargo 2x8 divider board, or in the 5th cargo bay. Want run them during the day..move them to the front of the 5th, at night to the rear. I'm not Pi**anting a 120# generator anywhere other than where I first set it down. Keep it in the truck bed? I'm going fishing 10 miles away baby, good luck on keeping cool.

I have 2 Honda eu2000i and the eu7000 by Honda used for previous trailers, there now paper weights basically when not fired up once every month. But for reliability there the best on the market imo.
