We go to Ocean lakes. We enjoy it because there's lots to do. Great place for kids. NOW its BIG! crowded in the summer months and most holidays. sites are good you can see the sizes of each campsite online. Several bathhouses, pools, putt-putt, store, just about anything you want.
BUT now there are 5-6 other campgrounds. Two on the north end that ocean front, three on the south side ocean front. two land locked away from the beach.
If you Google myrtle beach campgrounds you should get all the websites. I wish I had the old webshots I had lots of pictures from there.
Any you pick I am sure you will enjoy and your kids,
randy

By far..the myrtle beach state park is a great CG. There over Labor Day. Spacious sites...wooded.....walking distance to the beach.
All others we checked out were huge parking lots. Too many golf carts flying around...overcrowded.

Very popular...have to reserve well in advance!

Huntington Beach State Park is another great park just south of MB, right on the beach and not crowded.

The big three are Ocean lakes, Lake wood and pirate land. They are side by side and all offer a lot of things to keep the kids busy. We stayed at Lake wood last summer for a week and had a great time. A little pricy but nice. We had a ocean front site. By the way lake wood should have opened there brand new water park this summer. My understanding is that it will be included in the camping cost.

Just this time last year we were at the Myrtle Beach KOA for a week. It was very nice with lots of shade trees and within walking distance of the beach. The sites were spacious, the park clean, and the personnel very nice.

I will agree, MBSP is camping. Nice wooded area within walking distance too the beach, and minute's away from the what I would call the strip where all the gift shops are and lot's of shopping. One thing that we thought was cool was almost everyday in the morning it was a military airshow yes! It's at the end of the airport runway so there is some air traffic but I didn't think it was bad.

A few years ago we stayed at Willow Tree RV resort, and it lack's tree's and is about 20 minutes from the beach and shopping area's.

Ocean Lakes SC

We stay at Ocean Lakes in Myrtle Beach, the staff are great, sites are nice and all the amenities are very convenient. We got to the point we store it there rather than tow, cost of storage is cheaper than gas to tow to and from our home in Va. In short, you wont be disappointed camping at OceanLakes.
