Two or three days before going out, I can't sleep. Not from worry, but from excitement
When I was working in my high stress job, I often woke in the middle of the night and couldn't go back to sleep because my brain just wouldn't quit. I thought of how nice it would be when I retired. Now I'm retired, with a cool RV, and still I can't sleep.
I'm sure my husband experiences your same pre-trip jitters, but he's a silent worrier, so it's OK
He was the same way when he was driving truck and preparing for a trip to Idaho or elsewhere.
I'm sure, when we have been on a few more trips, I will sleep better, but what's the fun, if you aren't so excited you can't sleep?
