cougar 368MBI

Anyone out there pulling the Cougar 368MBI with an F-250? If so please share your experiences with it. I will be close on my payload. I want to make it clear I am not looking for a debate over weights. I have been pulling for years and know how to do the math. Looking for real life feedback on pulling it with a 3/4 ton.

Welcome to the forum

Someone else’s experiences with that fifth wheel may be totally different. It will depend on short/long bed, what and who is loaded in the truck. How the fiver is loaded can affect it too.

Maybe if you post the particulars of your truck, what you load in it and such might help.

Asking about towing with an F250 leaves a lot of variance in capacities and capabilities. For example: what year? Gas or diesel? Which model? What wheelbase? Fwd or 2wd? Single cab, super cab or crew cab?

You stated you don't want a "debate" over weights so let's just go with facts;

368MBI
14,000lbs. gvwr
1980 dry pin weight

You don't specify what your 250 is which makes a huge difference so any input you receive may or may not apply to you. I personally looked at the 368MBI because DW liked the mid room. I ruled it out because it was too heavy for my then 3/4 ton - and it was gas with a 3100lb. payload. Those are just facts. Your payload inside your door should tell you all you need to know - for sure if it is a diesel.

When we decided to step up to a 5er I bought a 1ton dually used it pulls the 33 ft 14500# raptor very well and the weight police still questioned my purchase

Like has been said get the payload from your doorjamb and do the math pin weight 23-25% of gross I personally use 25% so multiply trailer gvwr ×.25 for pin weight/payload comparison

No debate here!
Too much rv, too little truck!
Both are yours so do as you will!
You won't be the only one out there that thinks it's OK!
And that's all I have to say about that!!!!

Folks, the OP posted and signed off. Hopefully was serious about figuring out his towing capability and will come back and provide a bit of detail on his truck. We shall see....
