12V power issue

I have a 2021 30RLS. I want to boondock sometime, I don't have any 12V when unplugged from shore power, other than the leveling system. No lights, no in command, no fridge, etc. Batteries are good, battery shutoff is properly secured. What should I be checking?

Your battery disconnect must be turned to the position, which may say ON, so when connected to AC power, the converter is supplying power to the batteries. If you have the battery disconnect OFF, your converter is providing 12 volts at the panel but you aren't keeping the batteries charged. When not connected to AC power and the disconnect is turned OFF, your batteries are not connected to the panel, so if you are trying to boondock, you may have power in the batteries, but it isn't getting to the panel. Why did you turn off the disconnect?

Check the reverse polarity fuses.

Can you remove the battery disconnect key? If you can remove it then the battery is disconnected.

What do these reverse polarity things look like, and where are they? And, no I cannot remove the disconnect key, so battery is connected.

The polarity fuses are typically 2 40 amp ATO fuses on the lower part of the power distribution panel. Some panels have them mounted on the back f the panel. Turin all power off anmd disconnect the battery before replacing.

How do you know this?? The red light on at the switch means that 12 volts are present not whether the switch is on or off. The switch controls a latching relay. There is an inline resettable fuse within 6' of the battery. There are 2 "Reverse Polarity" fuses In the fuse panel not in line with all the other 12 volt fuses. They will be labeled "Reverse Polarity" right on the circuit board. Not on the fuse box label.

There are variations to this but all are basically the same. The power does not usually go thru a standard switch as light does.

The reverse polarity things are standard automotive fuses just like all the other 12 volts fuses in the RV. There are usually 2 sometimes 3. They are off to the side by themselves.
