Greetings from Virginia Beach! I am a new owner, purchasing my first TT, a 2021 Cougar 26RKS. I will be towing with a 2019 Ram 1500.

I've always wanted an RV since I was a kid. Tent camping was a regular event when I was a child, and was always fascinated with Campers, Trailers, and RVs.

My experience in RV'ing first came when I was 16 years old and my parents rented a Southwind RV from U-Haul (Can you imagine U-Haul actually rented full size RVs??). We took a month long trip across the USA from upstate NY to the Tijuana border.

I will actually be living in my Cougar full time for the next few months as I am transferring for work to another state. People ask me if I know what I am in for, tiny home living and all. I am retired Navy. Have you ever seen the living space on a ship? This camper has a king size bed!

Honestly, I may not know what I am in for, but I can tell you with the utmost certainty: I am looking forward to the adventure! Full Speed Ahead!

That looks like a great floor plan. Hope you got the theater seats iso the pull out couch. You will likely want to check out a good quality foam mattress topper as the OEM mattress is pretty much like a ship bunk in quality.

Yes, we did get the theater seats. I was thinking the same thing about the mattress. Any suggestions?

Can't help with a mattress topper. When we bought our 2002 camper it had the original trailer queen mattress which was about 2 inches thick and sagging and I had the seller remove it and put in a 14" pillow top regular queen we had picked up at Billy Bob's Beds in San Antonio and had used in our previous camper, a toy hauler. It matches the mattress in our home. I am sure there are gurus on here who can suggest a great topper. You can also get a conventional mattress that is far more comfy than whatever came with the camper. I stayed in a 24' Sunnybrook for four months undergoing med stuff in Houston and the pull out couch was a nightmare. You more or less had to lay on the couch to watch TV which was directly to the right at a 90 degree angle and bought a mattress topper for the couch at Walmart and it still couldn't hide the lumps and bumps in the pull out. The pull out had never actually been pulled out so was a waste of time and I wish I had purchased a recliner and pitched it.

to the forum. You can get a decent memory foam mattress from Big Lots reasonably priced. Enjoy your new camper. Great info here. Safe travels.

Congrats it will be great enjoy. We love ours if nothing else you can get away for a weekend and I just enjoy sitting outside looking at the water and maybe do some fishing in the morning or evening. We always try and find a camp ground that has water sites. Just sitting and looking is very relaxing.
