Where to get Spare tire

My used 2011 Keystone Passport Exp didnt come with a spare tire.

Where do you guys look tonget new tire and in this case wheel.

Is there certain tires to use for trailers or just make sure its the right size.

Pull trailers and fifth wheels use ST rated tires; these tires are different than passenger vehicle tires in that they are designed for trailers. Get the correct size and load rating at Walmart or Discount Tire, etc. The wheel you need can be bought at etrailer.com - make sure it is the same size as those on your trailer; probably a 14" or 15" 5 bolt rim.



It would help if you went to the UserCP at the top/left of each page in the black band that runs across the page and create a signature with your camper's year, make and model and the same for your tow vehicle. This will make answers to your questions have more context. No one here is familiar with all Keystone models and someone with your exact model could give you a more precise answer.

There are no hard set rules for spare tires except the load capacity. A few years ago while at the Local RV show I found a factory provided bias ply tire being used for the spare. That got me into researching RV trailer spare tire requirements.

When the trailer manufacturer certified the vehicle with OE radial tires and a Bias spare they were just doing that. Providing a spare with the load capacity of the OE tires.

The first thing that came to mind was different constructions on the same axle. It's a spare and only required to get you someplace to properly replace the failed tire.

Probably the best place to find a spare tire/wheel assembly is a popular on-line tire/wheel provider.

You don't/haven't provided the model number for your trailer, all you've identified is that it's a 2011 Passport Exp Hybrid. No mention which floorplan, size or weight. That said, the majority of 2011 Passport Express trailers use ST205 75R14 Load Range C tires. NOTE THE ST designation. You can confirm the size on the sidewall of any of your current tires. Also count the lug nuts on the wheels. It should be 5. I would also confirm that the "tire load chart" located on the driver's side front corner of your trailer designates the same size tire that is actually on the trailer. It's possible that a previous owner "cheaped out" and installed smaller tires than are actually called for by the manufacturer...

Any trailer dealer can obtain a tire/wheel combination in the wheel size, lug configuration and tire size.

If the tires called for are ST205 75R14 LRC, this link to Tractor Supply is one source for a "spare tire/wheel"... Note that Tractor Supply does not usually stock "the highest quality tire brands" but they are "cheap enough and readily available to use as a "spare to roll the trailer to the nearest tire store for a replacement.

ADDED: If you do some searching on the Tractor Supply website, you'll find that they carry a Load Range D tire in the same size, on the same wheel for $25 less. Most people, when they buy tires, "upsize" load range from C to D or from D to E to attain greater carrying capacity and/or to provide a greater safety margin.

Have never seen a 15" ST tire that costs $360.99; even a 12 ply all steel. Didn't know they sold camper tires but the ones they have seem to be off-brand manufacturers although I am not a tire guru.

That has to be a misprint on the price for a never heard of brand of tire, unless it comes with the wheel shown.
